Our client a premier hotel based in Juba, South Sudan is seeking a motivated and self-driven Food & Beverage Manager to take full responsibility for the daily operations of the F&B department at hotel.
The role involves managing a diverse team of local and expatriate chefs, waiters, and supervisors while reporting directly to the General Manager. This is a hands-on position suited to an energetic and detail-oriented leader with strong people management and customer engagement skills, offering an excellent opportunity to gain broad operational and business management experience in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management of the restaurant, bar, and kitchen operations, ensuring efficient service delivery to all guests.
- Lead guest relations by hosting clients, building strong relationships, and resolving complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Recruit, train, develop, and motivate kitchen, bar, and restaurant teams to ensure consistently high service standards.
- Foster a cohesive and high-performing F&B team culture, addressing staff issues and reporting discrepancies to the General Manager.
- Manage all stock, procurement, supplier relationships, and POS controls, ensuring accuracy and minimizing loss or theft.
- Handle all administrative and financial duties, including inventory oversight, budgeting, cash flow management, and reporting to the General Manager.
- Drive F&B marketing initiatives and menu development, including events, promotions, weekly specials, and new menu concepts.
Key Qualifications
- Degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field from a recognized institution.
- 5+ years’ experience in Food & Beverage operations, with at least 3 years in management.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and customer service skills with excellent English communication.
- Knowledge of food trends, best practices, and full technical expertise in food handling, beverage storage, and service.
- Skilled in budgeting, cost control, mathematical and analytical tasks, and effective delegation.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software.
- High levels of personal integrity, energy, and ambition to drive business performance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to operate and problem-solve under pressure in remote environments.
