
Our client, a leading automotive company in the Kenya is seeking to hire a Cost Control Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the financial and operational performance of the Aftersales division.
The primary focus is on ensuring compliance with margin standards, controlling operational costs (travel, consumables, external works), and rigorously measuring workshop productivity. The role requires a strong aptitude for IT, particularly Excel skills, and data analysis for timely and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities.
- Audit and control Work in Progress (WIPs) to ensure accurate cost allocation of parts and labour, and timely invoicing to minimize working capital exposure.
- Monitor actual vs. standard margins for service and parts sales on a daily/weekly basis, investigating and reporting significant negative deviations.
- Analyze and control discounts on parts and labour, evaluating their financial impact and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Identify inefficiencies and support cost-reduction initiatives to optimize profitability across service operations.
- Control and analyze travel and operational expenses for the technical team, ensuring justification, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor and validate the costs of contracted external works, assessing the profitability and justification of subcontracted jobs.
- Track and analyze operational costs of service vehicles, including fuel consumption, maintenance, and wear and tear, to support fleet cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance of all operational processes and cost registrations with company financial policies and standards.
- Track key operational KPIs (Efficiency, Occupation, Productivity) and prepare periodic financial and operational performance reports and dashboards.
Key Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Management Engineering) or Management/Economics with a strong quantitative background.
- Very Strong Aptitude for IT: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
- Proficiency in ERP systems for robust data extraction and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with cost-consciousness.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
