Account Manager for Southern Africa, for one of Africa’s leading Information Technology Solutions provider, to be based in Malawi, Zambia or Mozambique
Our client, is looking for an ambitious and passionate Account Manager for Southern Africa, to be based in Malawi, Zambia or Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the the business in this region by identifying and selling to new prospects and existing customers while maintaining relationships with existing clients in Southern Africa. He/She will be in charge of managing and developing an expansive base of clients, ensure the growth of the customer base as well as cultivating new relationships with potential customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed assigned annual and quarterly sales revenue targets, including maintenance revenue across assigned accounts.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline (minimum 3× target) to ensure sustained business growth and continuity.
- Understand and align with customers’ internal buying processes, budgets, and decision-making structures.
- Prospect, onboard, and grow new customers while expanding opportunities within existing accounts.
- Collaborate closely with technical and presales teams to identify, position, and close opportunities across multiple products and industry verticals.
- Prepare and execute effective sales plans aligned with overall business objectives.
- Maintain strong market, industry, and competitor knowledge, including products, pricing, promotions, and trends within the ICT sector.
- Prepare and deliver regular business reviews and forecasts to management, demonstrating a proven multi-product sales track record.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (MBA and/or professional certification is an added advantage).
- Account management experience in the IT industry.
- Strong track record of excellence in achieving sales targets.
- Strong ability to penetrate new accounts and walk his/her way to the decision makers
- Excellent negotiation, client relationship, and conflict management skills.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching and mentoring.
